Bolt Creative Releasing An All-New Pocket God Game For iPad This Fall

July 7, 2010

Bolt Creative is taking pygmies where no pygmy has gone before -- the iPad.  The prominent iPhone game developer has announced that Pocket God will be making its way to the iPad this year, but not in the form most might think. Pocket God: Journey to Uranus, as it is being called, is an upcoming iPad exclusive version of the popular iPhone game.  But instead of simply porting over the original Pocket God, Bolt Creative has decided to make an entirely new game, which will be centered around taking pygmies to other worlds and participating in mini-games. Pocket God: Journey to Uranus will take advantage of the iPad's strengths, specifically the large screen size, higher resolution graphics, and multi-touch capabilities. When asked why the company decided to make a new game instead of a mere port, Dave Castelnuovo told CNN:
“I don’t really believe in taking an existing title and cranking out an exact same clone of the game on every different console out there. If we have a really hardcore fan that has it on both iPad and iPhone, we want them to have a different experience.”
Fans of the original game need not worry about Bolt Creative dropping the ball on the frequent updates, however.  The company fully intends on supporting the original just as they did in the past.  They even have an update titled "A Pygmy A Day Keeps the Ape Away" ready to go, they are just waiting on the comic to get reviewed so they can both be released at the same time. That's all of the information that's available at this time, but Bolt Creative has posted some screenshots in order to give you a taste of what to expect this fall.
