Pricey BuzzPics For iPad App Brings Photos to Apple Tablet Device

July 8, 2010

Users of Google’s Buzz service, this app is for you: BuzzPics for iPad (just released). The social networking app allows Buzz users to instantly share and download photos at the same time.

Created by Tiger Ng, BuzzPics for iPad is priced at $4.99, and is the first such app available for Apple's tablet device. While apps such as G-Whizz! and Buzzie allow full access to a user's Buzz account, BuzzPics strength is in dealing with photo sharing. Users may find the price tag for this app unjustified, and a lite version would have been nice. However, thanks to its uniqueness in the marketplace, the BuzzPics for iPad app might be just what Buzz users are looking for when it comes to sharing photos from the iPad. They may not even care about the inflated price. Features include, according to the developer:
  • Download and browse your friends' latest photos
  • Upload your photos when posting updates
  • Save photos to albums and add photos to your favorites
  • Follow people to discover more photos and view their profile
  • Search public photos all over the world and save searches as well

  • Best of all, all you need is a Google account to get started. Google Buzz is a social networking and messaging tool from Google that competes directly with Facebook and other services like Twitter. Launched in May 2010, Buzz is integrated into Google's web-based email program, Gmail. Other iPad apps from Ng include PhotoMailbox for iPad, CrazyList for iPad and PhotoOnly for iPad.
