Humor: Coming Up - Bumpergate

July 14, 2010

In the middle of Antennagate, it seems Apple might have yet another problem to worry about. Indeed, the design of the iPhone 4 bumper case, widely believed to be the answer to the current reception and PR problems, is flawed as well.

Discovered by Ryan McManus, the issue seems to be with the rubber the bumper case is made of. Apparently, the friction, aka the rub, makes it nearly impossible to slide the new iPhone in and out of your jeans pocket. This is especially troubling when you consider that "Apple users jeans are 33% tighter than a PC user, and a shocking 90% tighter than a Linux user". This is something Steve would have missed because he wears baggy jeans; the kind with ample pockets.

Ryan of course contacted Steve as soon as he realized there was an issue. Unfortunately, he was just told to buy some looser fitting pants. AppleCare is saying a software fix is on the way, yet, we'll be watching closely as this situation unfolds as it seems to be of the highest importance.

Check out Ryan's amazing detailed report for all the details.
