Feeling a little sluggish after an eventful holiday weekend? How about giving some free apps a try? Today's list contains a handful of iPhone games, an app that allows you to control music from another iDevice, and an iPad app for quick note-taking.
Online Artillery ($3.99 -> Free): An online-only artillery game, so you will need to create a free account and have an internet connection in order to play. In the game each player takes turns shooting at each other's castle. Before each shot you must take into account wind direction and speed, and the distance of your opponent in order to land three successful shots to win. The game contains 30 different maps, a ranking system, online leaderboards, and night and day mode.
Online Artillery is available for free for the next week. It has a four-and-a-half-star rating.
iBrr Bluetooth Receiver and Remote ($3.99 -> Free): Just like
yesterday's Tango Remote,
iBrr allows you to control one iDevice's music from another. This one, however, is only available for iPhone and iPod touch, but it does allow you to make a connection over Bluetooth as well as Wi-Fi.
iBrr is available for free through today only (7/5). It has a three-star rating.
Skid Racer ($.99 -> Free): A top-down arcade racer with on-screen controls. Race around nine unique tracks across three different environments. You can take part in Championship mode and choose from three difficulty levels, or just get a single game in with quick race. The game features randomly placed obstacles, power-ups, and OpenFeint integration as well.
Skid Racer is available for free today only (7/5). It has a three-star rating.
Oh Marbles! ($.99 -> Free): The same marbles game you used to play as a kid. You can play three different types of marbles games in 15 different locations. The game includes 100 marble designs with the ability to add to your collection by winning games. If you are feeling inspired, you can even send in your own marble designs to be included in the game.
Oh Marbles! is available for free for a limited time. It has a three-star rating.
i-Gun Ultimate ($.99 -> Free): If you are a gun aficionado, this is your app. It features tons of different guns with options like a silencer and unlimited ammo. You can tap to shoot, tilt to reload, and just play around with your digital gun however you wish. It even includes a shooting range mode where you can earn cash to upgrade.
i-Gun Ultimate is available for free today only (7/5). It has a three-and-a-half-star rating.
iPad only:
Quick Writing Notes ($1.99 -> Free): A relatively basic note-taking app for your iPad. Write notes with only the tip of your finger, and then save them to your photo album or mail them off to your friends. The app takes a unique approach to accidental input from your hand resting on the screen by allowing you to move the writing field vertically on the screen. It also features different options for pencil color, background color, and background images.
Quick Writing Notes is available for free for a limited time. It has a three-star rating.
