Today's list is once again severely lacking in the iPad app department, but we have quite a few worthy iPhone and iPod touch apps to check out.

The Colbert Report's The Word ($.99 -> Free): Want the Word at your fingertips every single day? Then this app is for you. Find every Word by date or alphabetically, or surprise yourself with a random one. Videos play best over a Wi-Fi connection, but 3G will do. The app features a fairly unobtrusive Vitamin Water ad for the free promotion.
The Colbert Report's The Word is available for free for a limited time. It has a three-and-a-half-star rating, and a total of 25 ratings.
Ultimate Party ($.99 -> Free): Contains five different drinking games -- Clacker, Beer Hunter, King's Cup, Mexicali, and High or Low -- each of which offers a different set of rules and requirements to play.

Fantastic 4 In A Row ($.99 -> Free): Basically a Connect 4 game with three different themes, 10 songs, local multiplayer that can be activated with a bump, and stat tracking by round.

Mansion Expansion ($.99 -> Free): Tap to purchase houses that appear, and tap the houses again to sell them off and make money. When you purchase a house you can wait around for it to go up in value, but you can't lose focus because the prices will eventually plummet. The goal in each of the 11 stages is to purchase the expensive mansion. The game features simple tap gameplay, and OpenFeint integration.
Mansion Expansion is available for free today only (7/27). It has a four-and-a-half-star rating, and a total of seven ratings.
Gate-Keeper ($.99 -> Free): An information safe-keeper. Store passwords, login information, notes, addresses, photos, and basically anything you can think of safely and securely. You can share any of your information via email as well.
Gate-Keeper is available for free for the next 30 days. It doesn't currently have enough reviews for a rating.
Ultimate Word Search ($.99 -> Free): Your basic game of word search, only with 63 categories, six themes, and 12 words per puzzle to find. The app includes a built-in dictionary, auto-save, and OpenFeint integration.
