iPhone And iPad Apps Gone Free: Secret Ballot, Zombie Duck Hunt, DexIQ HD And More
July 10, 2010
We have a rather long list again for you today, so there will hopefully be something for everyone. iPad owners will be happy to hear that we have three quality apps on the list, including the challenging DexIQ HD. iPhone and iPod touch users get an interesting mix of games, a Kiss-ifying app, and an app to help make decisions.
Samurai: Way of the Warrior ($4.99 -> Free): A hack and slash game developed specifically for the iPhone. Instead of forcing you to use on-screen joysticks, the game utilizes a more intuitive tap and swipe mechanic. In the game you will be fighting your way through hordes of enemies using only the tip of your finger. It features multiple modes of play, a comic-like art style, and AGON Online integration.
Samurai: Way of the Warrior is available for free today only (7/10). It has a three-and-a-half-star rating.
Secret Ballot ($.99 -> Free): Can't get a group of people to make a decision? Then it's time for Secret Ballot. Just enter the number of people that are voting into the app, and then enter the choices everyone will be voting on and pass your iDevice around so the votes can be cast. Works great for any occasion.
Secret Ballot is available for free for an undisclosed amount of time. It has a four-and-a-half-star rating.
A Steam Doodle ($.99 -> Free): A drawing app where you can choose a pre-loaded background or add one of your own, and then reveal it by wiping away the steam. Steam transparency can be adjusted, as well as the brush size. Water droplets will also stream down the image if enough wiping takes place.
A Steam Doodle is available for free today only (7/10). It has a four-and-a-half-star rating.
Zombie Duck Hunt ($.99 -> Free): Zombie ducks are invading and you must stop them by firing at will. Aiming is done via tilt, and the less shots it takes you to take down each duck the more money you will earn, which can be used to upgrade your weapons. If a duck is left in the air for too long it will leave the screen and you will lose a life. Lose three and the game is over. It also features OpenFeint integration.
Zombie Duck Hunt is available for free today only (7/10). It has a three-star rating.
Disacol ($.99 -> Free): A puzzle game where you are required to push like-colored blocks into each other in order to match them. The only way to move blocks is with the pusher, which means that some blocks can only be matched in certain ways, requiring you to figure out the best sequence. The game features a bunch of hand-made levels, and the ability to post scores on Twitter.
Disacol is available for free today only (7/10). It doesn't currently have a rating.
iConnect Cube ($2.99 -> Free): A matching game that takes place on a 3D transparent cube. Tap like items in order to match them and remove them from the cube's surface. The cube can be spun with a simple flick of the finger. You must clear all of the pieces from the cube before time expires.
iConnect Cube is available for free for a limited time. It has a three-and-a-half-star rating.
Spinning Air Hockey ($.99 -> Free): Air hockey with a twist, or more like a spin. Take on an AI-controlled opponent or a friend locally on the same device in a game of air hockey. The twist is that you can add a little spin or curve to your shot. The game features customizable goal sizes, and online rankings.
Spinning Air Hockey is available for free today only (7/10). It doesn't currently have a rating.
Kiss Your Face ($1.99 -> Free): Make your face Kiss-ified. Simply import of photo of yourself or a friend and the app will apply a white base to your face. You can then add stickers that are customizable to your face.
Kiss Your Face is available for free through the weekend. It has a four-star rating.
iPad only:
DexIQ HD ($4.99 -> Free): A challenging game of dexterity that requires you to do two things at once. The screen is split into two, and each side requires you to do two distinctly different tasks at the same time in order to achieve the highest score. The question is, do you have what it takes? The game features eight level and 32 mini-games, the ability to challenge your friends, and Plus+ integration.
DexIQ HD is available for free for an undisclosed amount of time. It doesn't currently have a rating.
Kiss Your Face ($1.99 -> Free): Just like the iPhone version above except you won't be able to take your own photo, of course.
