The Life Web Browser Just Got Better

July 24, 2010

In June, I introduced our readers to the Life Web Browser, a wonderful alternative to Safari for iPad. Today, its creators, “It’s About Time Products” released their first update, version 1.1.

While most app updates are forgettable, as most are used to fix programming mistakes, the Life Web Browser update is noted for something else. In this case, it looks like the developers actually listened to their customers and added updates that they wanted. Among the new features, which were customer requested:
  • Life now saves websites as you go to them rather than after you press the home button.
  • A ".com button" added to the extension bar of keyboard so you can use the ".com button" anywhere.
  • Queued pages are now the priority downloaded websites
In addition, the Life Web Browser includes a new memory management system that is supposed to handle websites more efficiently. The update is slick and makes your entire browsing experience more pleasant. Until Safari for iPad is more like its PC/Mac cousin, I believe the Life Web Browser is the best one available for Apple's device. And yes, bugs have been fixed as well. The Life Web Browser sells for $1.99 and is available in the App Store. For my previous look at the app please click here.
