MobileMe iDisk Gets iPad-Optimized, Adds Multitasking Support
July 6, 2010
Miraculously, only two days after our rant about how Apple should at the very least update their MobileMe suite of apps to include universal compatibility, they have honored a portion of our that request by adding the feature to MobileMe iDisk. Not only that, Apple has also added multitasking support and a few other enhancements.
MobileMe iDisk v1.2 now features an iPad-optimized interface, which means no more having to run that bad boy in 2x mode just to get the job done. It also features multitasking support for iOS 4 devices in the form of fast app switching and the ability to play audio from your iDisk while using another app.
In addition to the rather exciting news above, Apple has added the option to open iDisk documents in compatible apps, the last file or directory viewed is now displayed when opening the app, files can be shared from any configured email account, and now the URL for shared files can be copied and pasted.
MobileMe iDisk is only useful to those who have a subscription to the service, which normally runs around the $99 mark.
So what are you waiting for iOS 4 and iPad users? Go take it for a spin.
