Simple Home Design Comes To The iPad
July 20, 2010
Helix Coding just released LivingRoom for iPad. The app allows would-be interior designers to design homes, room-by-room using a simple design tool.
The app comes with lots of design templates that make planning a new room a breeze for even design novices. According to developer Matt Aronoff:"LivingRoom for iPad grew out of a very specific need -- I was redecorating, and found the existing iOS floor plan and interior design apps to be lacking -- they were either too complicated or just had no care put into the user experience. iOS apps should be easy to dive right into, and fun to use; LivingRoom for iPad brings that philosophy to interior design apps. There's a large palette of pre-built object types, and an even larger library of built-in textures. Users can add their own textures to their room objects, and can share the resulting rooms with one press. Anyone can use LivingRoom for iPad to design a beautiful space."Users of the app can plan and design space - from the floor plan to laying out furniture to choosing materials. Best of all, each room is saved automatically in the app, in an easy-to-retrieve format. This is similar to how files are saved in iWork for iPad. LivingRoom for iPad comes with a large built-in database of structural and design items which can be resized and colored. Designs can be exported to PDF. For $4.99, this looks to be a terrific app for novice and pro home designers alike. Visit the LivingRoom for iPad in the App Store for more information.
