Sky Writing HD for iPad Is Released, But Pricey

July 21, 2010

Sky Writing HD for iPad by HotNFunnyIphoneApps was recently released in the App Store. The app is short on substance, but simple to use. Imagine that your finger is an airplane in the sky and you will understand how Sky Writing HD for iPad works.

Messages can be written in the app’s clear blue sky then saved using your iPad’s home and power button. But be careful: your message will float away quickly just like actual sky writing messages.

The app was created by visual effects artist Jeff Wolverton, who also produces an iPhone version. Priced at $2.99, I found SkyWriting HD pricey, but a new update will add some features.  These include the ability to increase the time before your message disappears, as well as the addition of cool backgrounds like skies, beaches and famous city skylines. Also, some of the backgrounds will be multilayered which will give your sky writing a more realistic look. For example, messages will float behind buildings as they do in real life. My advice would be to wait until the next update is released or watch for it to go on sale. At $2.99 Sky Writing for iPad in its present form is not worth the price. HotNFunnyIphoneApps has also released Pop It HD and DropQuotesHD for iPad.
