Trade-In Your Free Bumper For Another Case At A Discount

July 20, 2010

Consumers are thrilled to be getting free Bumpers from Apple. However, the hundreds of other iPhone case makers might not be as happy with the free case program, which begins next week. After all, free sells better than the $30-$75 most third-party vendors charge for iPhone cases. However, manufacturer Incipio isn’t sitting quietly doing nothing while Apple gives away free Bumpers (originally priced at $29). The company has initiated its “Bumper Trade-In” program which works like this: Consumers send the company their Bumper and in return, get $5 off any of its online products. The company sells cases for iPads, iPhones, iPods, MacBooks among others. The program is limited to two, $5 discounts per household, but it can be combined with other Incipio offers. The best part: consumers can get their $5 off coupon even before their free Bumper arrives! All you have to do is visit the site and begin to shop today!  Mail Incipio the Bumper once you get it. I’m not sure $5 is enough to entice someone to exchange something that costs them nothing, but it's a great concept. Besides, there are a lot of premium cases out there that are much better than the Apple Bumpers. It will be interesting to see how other vendors react to Apple’s free Bumper program. Visit the Incipio site for more information on its "Bumper Trade-In" program.
