AppFresh Daily: The Very Best Apps From The Last 48 Hours
August 22, 2010
As you know, there are plenty of new apps hitting the App Store every day (about 600/day lately). The thing is, most of them are Flashlight and Radio apps, so it’s not easy to find the little gems in all the clutter. Let us take care of that for you, it’s Appfresh daily. Exceptionally, as I was gone yesterday, I'm covering today the best of the last two days, so you don't miss anything:
Shopaholic Wish (iPhone) helps you list, manage and track all these things you wish you could buy. You can rank them and see what categories of goods you're craving the most.
It goes for $1.99.
CMT Insider by the MTV network gives you access to all sorts of information about your favorite country star bands.
It's free.
Traffic Shake (iPhone) is yet another attempt at crowd-sourcing traffic information. Just open the app, shake, and everybody else using the app will know there is something up where you're at.
It's free.
Twit Knoll (iPad) is a twitter client of a new kind that takes the concept of "Tweeting" a bit too literally. Instead of a timeline, this app creates 3D birds sitting on an electric line with each their own "tweet". It looks awful, but damn, it's original.
It goes for $2.99.
Piranha-3D (iPhone) is the official app of the Piranha 3D movie. The app itself is in 3D, and they will offer you free special glasses so you can enjoy it. It lets you play with some virtual piranhas apparently.
It's free.
Wine Shopper (Universal) is an app that will help you pick wine at the grocery store if you're not an expert. This one is apparently based on wines you can really find locally, it packs a search function, a 101 and so on. It's free.
iSite HD (iPhone) is an iPad website creation app. It will let you create some basic html sites simply and upload them right away over FTP.
It goes for $9.99.
Inkling (iPad) is a " platform for interactive textbooks, built from the ground up for iPad. It turns paper-based textbooks books into engaging, interactive learning experiences while staying compatible with the print book for classroom use."
It's free, the books must be bought inside the app though.
iSignpost (iPhone) tells you in what direction and how far away is your home. Joe has all the details.
It's free.
