EU Joins Fray Over Missing Flash On Apple Devices
August 11, 2010
First, it was the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. Now, regulators from the European Union are investigating Apple for its decision not to include Adobe Flash on its iOS devices.
According to the New York Post, the FCC started investigating Apple in June. This came after the Mountain View, Calif.-based Adobe Systems filed a complaint with the U.S. regulating body. News from the EU came from the same source, which stated that the probe could take four to six months. Apple and Adobe have been sparing for some time over Apple's reluctance to add Flash to any of its mobile devices including the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. At issue is whether Apple is allowed to limit what software can be placed on its devices.
