New Flight Tracking App Is Simple, But Useful

Tracking departing and arriving flights has never been easier thanks to a new app from Rakapps.com.
Flight Status - Free is a universal app available now for the iPad and iPhone/iPod touch.
Using your device's GPS capabilities, the app locates your nearest airport and shows upcoming flights with current status. You can change your default airport to any of hundreds of locations around the world.
Once you find your airport, you can locate flights according to departure/arrival times. For example, if your flight arrives at 6 pm, you simply click on the time button, which will show you a listing of flights around your designated time.
The app is tied directly to Flightstats.com, a flight tracking website. Because of this, the data presented is only as thorough as the details available on Flightstats.com site for each airport. Therefore, more details are available about flights for larger airports, but often times are more limited for smaller ones.
