Disclaimer: All prices are subject to change at any time and without notice regardless of stated free duration.
Melodica ($.99 -> Free): One of the easiest to use music creation apps in recent memory. Just launch the app, pick one of the four themes based on your mood, and then start tapping squares to add sounds. The square furthest to the left will play first in the loop. Keep filling in squares until the music sounds right, and then save your loop to be shared with friends.
Melodica is available for free today only (8/30). It has a four-star rating, and a total of 410 ratings.
Nubi Do ($9. 99 -> free): An elegant yet powerful task manager. It gives you multiple viewing, sorting and filtering options to keep you on task. It features the ability to import and export data to Google Docs, assign priorities and due dates, set up recurring tasks, attach text notes, create and assign tags, search, protect all or just individual tasks under a passcode, and much more.
Nubi Do is available for free today only (8/30). It has a four-star rating, and a total of 20 ratings.
PlayEar ($2.99 -> Free): A very unique app that allows you to listen to music without the worry of missing out on external conversations. When listening to music, the app is constantly listening to the outside world. If it hears a noise, your song will instantly pause, allowing you to hear what's going on. It also doubles as a voice activated audio recorder if you are in need of that type of thing. Additional settings allow you to tell the app how to react to sounds.
PlayEar is available for free for a limited time. It has a four-star rating, and a total of 15 ratings.
Rise of Atlantis ($.99 -> Free): A match-3 game that takes you on a journey to see the seven wonders of the world. Match-3 like tiles in order to score the most points and get the special piece to the bottom of the screen before time runs out. The game features clean and crisp graphics, and OpenFeint integration as well.
Rise of Atlantis is available for free today only (8/30). It has a three-and-a-half-star rating, and a total of 18 ratings.
Smash Fiesta ($.99 -> Free): A goofy little game that has you tapping on ingredients whack-a-mole-style in order to construct the perfect guacamole. Tap ingredients like Pedro Avocado, Garlic Garcia, Sick Pedro, Tito Tomatino, and the cream that slides by, but watch out for Poo Poo Santiago. You don't want that in your guacamole. The game features some pretty ridiculous animations and sounds, simple tap gameplay, and online leaderboards.
Smash Fiesta is available for free for a limited time. It has a three-and-a-half-star rating, and a total of 391 ratings.
Universal:
Until Countdowns ($.99 -> Free): A countdown app that allows you to keep track of multiple events. Create a countdown by giving it a name, message, and end date, and then choose an alarm sound. The app uses local notifications to inform you when the counter has reached zero. You can edit already created countdowns if necessary.
Until Countdowns is available for free until September 1st. It has a three-and-a-half-star rating, and a total of six ratings.
