iPhone And iPad Apps Gone Free: TextNow, Jojos Fashion Show 2, iDestroy And More

Today's list features a texting app that's compatible with all iDevices, a fashion game, a stress relieving entertainment app, and more. A Doodle Fly ($.99 -> Free): A distance game where you will be launching a pre-made or self-made character out of an elephant’s trunk in order to go the furthest distance.  Power-ups can be obtained while in mid-air, and upgradeable boosters like clouds, rockets, and plane’s can be used to prolong your flight.  It features character upgrades, and unlockable characters, items, and levels.  It also features OpenFeint to provide achievements and leaderboards. A Doodle Fly is available for free today only (8/28).  It has a four-star rating, and a total of 10 ratings. iNeverMiss ($1.99 -> Free): An app intended to do one simple thing, and that's make sure you don't miss your stop.  Open the app, drag the pin to a desired location, and then just sit back and wait for a notification to pop-up telling you that you have reached your destination.  No need to watch out of the bus windows during your trip, the app will let you know when you need to get off.  It can also run in the background if you are running iOS 4. iNeverMiss is available for free for a very limited time. It has a five-star rating, and a total of 17 ratings. iSandcastle ($.99 -> Free): A castle defense type of game where you must launch all kinds of objects from your castle in order to defend yourself from the ships shooting at you from the shore.  The game features a variety of weapons to use, simple launching mechanics, and global leaderboards. iSandcastle is available for free for a limited time. It has a three-star rating, and a total of 13 ratings. Jojos Fashion Show 2 ($2.99 -> Free): The goal of this one is to dress up models in full outfits -- shirts, shorts, shoes and accessories -- before they hit the runway.  Each model has a specific type of clothing they must wear before hitting the runway, and it's up to you to choose the correct items.  The game features 50 levels, male and female models, and OpenFeint integration. Jojos Fashion Show 2 is available for free today only (8/28). It has a four-star rating, and a total of 52 ratings. iDestroy ($.99 -> Free): A relatively simple entertainment app that allows you to relieve stress by torturing and killing 12 different types of bugs.  You are able to use 23 different types of weapons to accomplish this task.  Weapons include everything from machine guns to shrink rays.  You can customize how bugs react to each other, how many spawn at a time, and more.  Plus it features OpenFeint integration. iDestroy is available for free today only (8/28). It has a three-star rating, and a total of nine ratings. Universal: TextNow ($.99 -> Free): Allows anyone with an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad to send and receive an unlimited number of text and media messages for free.  You can choose your own phone number, get your own texting address, customize backgrounds, customize ringtones, and much more.  Just remember if you do choose to obtain a phone number, the app will display ads.  Ads can be removed via in-app purchase. TextNow is available for free for a limited time. It has a three-and-a-half-star rating, and a total of 1,067 ratings. iPad only: iDestroy: Extinction HD ($1.99 -> Free): Basically like the iPhone version above, only you can fit more creatures on the screen at once.  The app doesn't contain as many weapons and insects as its counterpart, but more will be added via updates. iDestroy: Extinction HD is available for free today only (8/28). It has a three-star rating, and a total of 18 ratings. Developers: If you are a developer who would like to get your app included in our “Apps Gone Free” daily lists, here’s our basic set of rules:

• It must have at least a three-star average rating at the time it goes free.
• The app must not have been free numerous times (3+) over the last six months.
