Pulse Teams With Posterous
August 5, 2010
The Pulse News app just got better. Creator Alphonso Labs has recently teamed up with Posterous to create a simple way for users to create their own "Pulses." Best of all, the service is free.
If you find an article within Pulse News that you feel others will enjoy, click on the heart-shaped icon. From there, simply log in and the post is sent to a free site hosted by Posterous. The first time you do this, a username and email address must be added. Then, your free Pulse site is alive and well for others to see. Friends without Pulse (or Posterous) can review your post simply by going to a website address. The website address will include the username you originally selected followed by pulsememe.com/. For example, my site is located at http://newworld71.pulsememe.com/. Users with Pulse can easily subscribe to your "Pulses", simply by looking up your name or username. Another aspect of the Pulse/Posterous endeavor is this: Pulsememe. As users are adding Pulses, this site determines which posts are "hot" and highlights them on the site. This service is brand new, and as such, isn't being used by a lot of people yet. Still, the concept looks promising and pushes the Pulse News app (again) to the head of the newsreader class. The Pulse News app is available for iPad ($3.99) and iPhone/iPod touch ($1.99).
