QuickAdvice: Get In Your Daily Dose of Hearts with Hearts - HD for iPad
Hearts - HD (Free) by Blue Frog Gaming pits you against 3 computerized card sharks in a fun and challenging game of Hearts. Can you beat them?
If you're not familiar with Hearts, I remember first playing it on those old PCs with like, Windows 95 on them. That was my first experience with Hearts. I always found the game fun, though at the time I was merely a kid, and therefore didn't really understand the rules of the game very well. Times have changed, and now I realize that Hearts was more of a game of skill, than getting the most points (that's what I thought as a kid).
Luckily, Hearts HD has a 'How To' section for you to brush up on the rules or learn how to play for the first time. The way to win is to have the least amount of points when a player reaches or exceeds 100 points.
Hearts HD for the iPad brings you full HD goodness of a good ol' Hearts game. The computerized card sharks are always going to get some randomly generated, silly name (if you can't chuckle at Mr. Hunkleton, The Tortuga, or Hn. Bond, well then, I'm not sure how to help you), and they're actually pretty smart.
The game itself requires a bit of thinking and strategy to outsmart your opponents, though it's not always possible. The graphics are pretty sharp for a Hearts game, and the animation is smooth and the interface is responsive. And you can see the records for your past 5 games as well, complete with each player's points for a game.
If you have any memories of playing Hearts and actually enjoyed it, then this is a game you should get for your iPad. Take advantage of that large screen and get some card game action going on it!
The only thing is you can't play against other people (online or pass-n-play), just the CPU. Sometimes this can get boring, but probably only if you just keep playing the game for hours on end. It would be pretty cool if the developers would add more options for playing against different opponents in the future, but for what it's worth, this is a good, free version of Hearts you should check out.
