QuickAdvice: Jot Down the Little Things with Jotter

Jotter ($1.99) by Greg Betzel is a feature-rich note taking app that does more than take notes, it can create little booklets of useful (or not) information.
You'll be creating 'jotters' in this app, which are basically just super feature-rich notes. The app allows text, images, check box items, divider lines, scales, links to pages, and provides an index of all the current pages in such a 'jotter.' The entire app can be used in either portrait or landscape mode (I prefer portrait, which is why all the screenshots are in portrait).
Pretty much all elements of a jotter can be customized. Text can be customized with alignment, text font and size, color and background. Although be warned that if you want different text styles, you will have to create a new text item for each different style you want.
Images can be added and edited, though the editing is very limited as it will only allow you to crop an image. I was expecting to add basic filters or invert colors or something like that, but I guess this is a note app first and not a full-on photography app after all. It also seems like you must add one image at a time, so if you want more images, you'll have to add them as new items each time.
The check box item is very useful and handy for those that live their life in an organized checklist every day. These can also be formatted with the same text formatting discussed earlier. Various sections of your jotter can be divided with divider lines, which can be adjusted to your liking.
A scale can be placed in a jotter as well, from 1 to 10. Although I'm not sure what the point is, since I noticed that the scale keeps resetting back to 1 every time you exit a jotter and go back in it. I think it should stay in the same place the last time you messed with it.
And finally, the thing that makes Jotter unique is the ability to create full-fledged 'documents' with multiple pages that can be linked in a single jotter. You can add multiple pages within one jotter, and link to specific pages. In the end, you can view a complete 'index' that shows how many pages are in the document. In a way, linking to more pages within a document is kind of like a little personal wiki.
Jotter is a full fledged note-taking tool that can be indispensable for those that need to keep track of a lot of stuff in a single note. This app can possibly make that kind of stuff easier to manage.

Overall, I think this is a good note app. I just have a problem with the interface - it's smooth and there's no problem with it, but I think it could use some work with the design. The functionality is there, but with the current design, I doubt it will see something like an Apple Design Award.
I could do without the brown/yellow color scheme, but this is all personal preference. You may think it looks great. I'm just saying that the design could use some improvement. But I think the functionality is great, especially with the support for both portrait and landscape.
It's rich with features, and if you're in the need for something like this, then I think it's worth the two bucks the developer is asking for.
