More Rumors On September Apple Event

August 12, 2010

Yesterday we commented (again, I might add) that an iPod touch refresh is anticipated for sometime next month. Now, the folks at All Things Digital have raised the anticipation level a bit more.

No, there isn't much more to report on the iPod touch. The site states what we think we already know (the device will include a Retina display and include front and back cameras). Still, it offers up additional thoughts on what to expect from Apple. All Things Digital says:
Other rumors run the gamut, such as a new cloud-based, streamy rethink of Apple TV (possible and exciting), a smaller iPad (silly and unlikely) and a streaming music service (useful and most likely).
Last year's September event wasn't announced until August 31, so for 2010 expect an announcement soon. Apple's fall event traditionally features iPod refreshes and I expect nothing different this year. Since we've heard that Apple TV is about to become iTV, I would expect that to be announced in September as well. Hang tight folks, surely we'll hear something official from Apple soon.
