Review: Droplitz Delight - Puzzle Dialed Towards Kids

Overview
Do you want a more kid friendly game that is super cute in its entire design?. Meet Droplitz Delight where your goal is guide the cute little Droplitz from the surface to deep underground along pre made paths. You simply tap dials to rotate them to make a path from two opening to one of three endings.
Features
Dials comes in four shapes straight, curve, Y, and X and are inserted randomly across the board. There are four game modes depending on what you’re in the mood for. It gives you a speed challenge, level based challenge, classic gameplay, and free play mode without other game mode constraints.
The Good
The game offers a nice puzzle mechanic that is fun and challenging. You have to take the whole board in at once to find the best routes, but you can always work your way backwards or even forwards. As soon as you make a path you get new dials dropped in, and finding a path starts all over again.
You want to make multiple paths as well as new paths as soon as the old one vanishes for a chain bonus. Each mode offers something completely different so you can play a rush mode for a few spare minutes or a methodical level by level target game. The game is simple to control by just tapping to rotate pieces, but working a path through all the dials under time constants makes it difficult to master.
The game is extremely well designed, and is packed with color and personality. The little Droplitz are plenty cute, and you want to see them succeed in a few different environments. If the visual weren't cute enough, there is an amazingly cute theme song that can get a little bit annoying once it gets stuck in your head which it will be sure to do.
The game is a little bit reminiscent of Pipe Dream, and similar games where you create a path for a flow. That style is always fun, and it's nice to keep going through levels, and reaching new areas so you have something to shoot for. The free play mode is also a nice addition so you can just enjoy the puzzles without the typical constraints.
The Bad
The main complaint is that there are only local high scores so no online connectivity to compete with other players. The game is very score centric, so a considerable component is missing. This can be a deal breaker for some while other players find online high scores irrelevant so it's up to you.
Though the style of the game is geared for kids, the gameplay itself may be too challenging. Luckily there is a hint system that can be used often if any player gets stuck repeatedly. The game is solid, but nothing really noteworthy is included or anything to keep you coming back to it.
The Verdict
Droplitz Delight is a fun puzzle game that is geared more towards kids, but offers plenty of challenge for the whole family. The game is well made with a great style including the visuals, and especially the sounds. The game just simply has nothing remarkable about it, and it gets lost in such a crowded App Store.
For $0.99 the game is worth considering, but there are better puzzle games out there.
