Review: Slice It! - Slicing And Dicing Geometry Style

Update
Slice It was just updated with quite a number of new features with the biggest being more levels. Now there are ten more levels in chapter four and episode two is now out with 20 more levels on top of the seventy already included meaning there are now 100 levels. There are now Game Center achievements as well to keep you slicing up the shapes.
Minor additions that improve the gameplay since we last reviewed it is the ability to skip a level, and get one free hint per level. Slice It! has 100 puzzles for $1, so each puzzle costs one cent, and they’re so challenging, and yet fun to figure out just the right slice. Playing through all the puzzles, and going for the achievements really increases replayability.
One concern not addressed is that there is only one right answer per puzzle which is quite disappointing when you figure out a more efficient slicing manor. The game is still one of the best available, and a must buy for $0.99 as of the 1.2.0 update.
Overview
Did you ever think that any aspect of Geometry could be fun as you deal with all those various shapes? Well Slice It gives you one shape at a time, and you need to slice it into smaller pieces of the same size. From the name you'll initially think that it's a Fruit Ninja clone, but thankfully that's not the case.
Features
Currently the game features 60 levels across three chapters with two more chapters on the way soon, according to the developer. For every level you're given a certain number of pencil swipes to slice the large shape into same sized smaller shapes. You’re scored on a scale of one to five stars based on how close in size the smaller shapes are, and if you get five stars on a level you earn a hint. The Good
Slice It has a unique puzzle mechanic in store for you with every single level playing differently. You can slice the large shape however you want into whatever shapes you want, they just have to be the same size percentage wise. You'll be slicing squares, triangles, circle, trapezoids, and odd shaped polygons.
You simply tap at one point, and drag to the other side of the shape to draw a line. Every level is definitely challenging, and with sixty challenges included it will have you playing for quite awhile. You will also want to improve your score on any level you think you can to earn hints for the later more difficult levels.
The game features well designed doodle graphics and artwork. It's nice to see the various animations of the pencil draw across the screen, and the breakdown of the size of the smaller shapes. There is a fun loving soundtrack that fits the more kid friendly doodle, colored pencil theme.
