Backflip Studios' NinJump Leaps Onto The iPad For Free
September 23, 2010
NinJump made its initial splash on the iPhone back in early August, and now the title is available for iPad in a graphically optimized form. In true Backflip Studios fashion, the game is ad supported and available for free with the ability to remove ads for $.99 via in-app purchase.
NinJump HD, just like its iPhone counterpart, is an endless climbing game that has you controlling a skilled ninja on his way up two skyscrapers. On the way up, you will encounter opposing ninjas, evil squirrels on wires, birds just waiting to cross your path, and even overhangs that must be avoided at all costs. But thankfully, the controls are simple enough that only your quick reflexes will be required to survive.
Tapping the screen on either side will make your ninja leap across in order to avoid all of the obstacles described above. You are also able to dispose of anything in your jumping path with your ninja blade, which is automatically activated during your jump. Power-ups like shields can be obtained in order to give you an extra boost on your quest to achieve the highest OpenFeint score.
NinJump HD is available in the App Store immediately free of charge. The ads can be removed at any time for $.99.
NinJump fans will be happy to know that Backflip Studios also intends to release a paid version in the future that will be completely ad-free, and sport new levels, enemies, and other content, with plans to add even more on a regular basis. So this is basically a taste of what's to come.
