iPhone And iPad Apps Gone Free: iStart Spanish!, ClusterStorm, WeeMee Avatar Creator And More

Today's list includes a basic Spanish teaching app, an arcade game with finely-tuned tilt controls, an avatar creator, and much more. ($4.99 -> Free): A language app that teaches you the basics of Spanish.  If you already know some Spanish, this probably isn't for you.  The app features full audio tutoring with clear explanations on basic Spanish grammar, vocabulary training with examples and native pronunciation, and interactive quizzes after every lesson (50 in all).  You can track your progress at the top of the main menu, and earn badges for completing certain sections. iStart Spanish! is available for free today only (9/16).  It has a four-and-a-half-star rating, and a total of 46 ratings. ClusterStorm ($.99 -> Free): A simple arcade game with addictive qualities. Tilt and turn your device to move your blue square over the green squares to earn points.  Every time you collect a green square an enemy red square will appear, which must be avoided at all costs.  Yellow squares will appear at times, which will turn you into the ever-powerful purple square, allowing you to take out the red squares for a limited time.  The game features four modes of play, finely-tuned tilt controls, and OpenFeint integration. ClusterStorm is available for free until September 18th. It has a four-star rating, and a total of five ratings. WeeMee Avatar Creator ($.99 -> Free): Allows you to create adorable, cartoony avatars for yourself and friends.  Utilize over 300 items, including 44 hairstyles, 92 clothing items, 78 accessories, 26 eyewear styles, 15 themed backgrounds, and more, to create the very best version of you or a friend.  Then you can save your avatar to be used later, or share it with friends via MMS, email, Facebook, or Twitter. WeeMee Avatar Creator is available for free today only (9/16).  It has a four-star rating, and a total of 190 ratings. Crack an Egg, Find a Bunny ($.99 -> Free): A casual game made with GameSalad that requires you to tap eggs to reveal bunnies.  Eggs will go rotten after three seconds, so you must tap quick in order to keep going.  The game features two levels of difficulty, and local high scores. Crack an Egg, Find a Bunny is available for free today only (9/16). It has a three-and-a-half-star rating, and a total of 25 ratings. Franky's Fly Buffet ($.99 -> Free): Another casual game made with GameSalad, only this one requires you to drag Franky the frog's tongue towards the flies above.  Grey flies net you a single point, yellow flies give you five, red flies make you lose a point and numb Franky's tongue, green flies give Franky gas, and time flies add ten seconds to your timer.  The game features local high scores as well. Franky's Fly Buffet is available for free today only (9/16). It has a three-and-a-half-star rating, and a total of five ratings. Tap Trace Pro ($1.99 -> Free): Helps you recover your lost iPhone by allowing you to send a message to your device, and when the finder opens the message, the app will attempt to contact the company's server and send information about its location.  The information is then made available to the owner of the device.  The finder also has the ability to send a message back.  This version features multitasking. Tap Trace Pro is available for free for a very limited time. It has a four-star rating, and a total of 52 ratings. Virtual Table Tennis ($2.99 -> Free): A single-player table tennis game that features accurate touch controls, three levels of difficulty, three modes of play, tons of different opponents to take on, and local stat tracking. Virtual Table Tennis is available for free for a limited time. It has a three-star rating, and a total of 288 ratings. Kaching! Play Money Bank ($.99 -> Free): Basically, this app replaces the paper money found in games like Monopoly, The Game of Life, and Payday.  The app allows you to set-up user accounts for each player. Then just place your device in the middle of the board so everyone can take care of their transactions. Kaching! Play Money Bank is available for free today only (9/16). It has a three-star rating, and a total of 144 ratings. iPad only: Tap Trace HD ($1.99 -> Free): Like the iPhone version above, only this one doesn’t feature multitasking since the iPad’s iOS doesn’t allow it at this time. Tap Trace HD is available for free for a very limited time. It has a three-star rating, and a total of 125 ratings. • The app must be free for at least one whole day.
• It must have at least a three-star average rating at the time it goes free.
• The app must not have been free numerous times (3+) over the last six months.
