The Secret Of Monkey Island And Monkey Island 2 For iPad On Sale For A Limited Time

As if the $.99 sale on Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck's Revenge for iPhone three days ago wasn't enough, LucasArts has placed their other two iOS Monkey Island games on sale for a limited time: The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition and Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck's Revenge for iPad.
The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition ($7.99 -> $.99): A re-imagined version of the original. The game follows the misadventures of a wannabe pirate named Guybrush Threepwood as he attempts to become the most infamous pirate in the Caribbean. This re-imagined version features a new contemporary art style, but it also allows you to seamlessly transition to the classic version as well with a simple swipe of two fingers. That way you can experience the game as it was originally intended. Just swipe with two fingers again and it will return to the Special Edition.
The game also features complete voice-overs by the original cast, a re-mastered musical score using live instruments, a new interface, and a three-level hint system.
Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck's Revenge for iPad ($9.99 -> $4.99): Monkey Island 2 once again allows you to follow the misadventures of the wannabe pirate Guybrush Threepwood. This time around, however, Threepwood is on a journey to find a mysterious treasure and win back Elain’s love.
The game includes enhanced graphics with a re-imagined contemporary art style, voice overs from the original cast, re-mastered and re-recorded musical score, the ability to transition between special edition and classic modes at anytime, a hint system, two different means of control, and object highlighting.
Oh, so you want some more? Well, guess what? LucasArts has just updated Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck's Revenge for iPhone with Retina display support. It has also received a few other additions and enhancements worth checking out.
