AppFresh Daily – The Very Best Apps From The Last 24 Hours
October 21, 2010
Boom! Today, another thousand new apps arrived in the App Store. Let me break it to you, most of them are really bad. Yet, there are a few somewhat interesting ones. Here they are:
Text Slides (iPad) is a simple little app that lets you create single-line, text-based slide presentations. It could come in handy for jokes or presentations.
It's free.
Define (iPhone) "scours Google for definitions of almost anything you can think of: words, expressions, acronyms, abbreviations. It's super fast and super simple." I couldn't have said that any better.
Also, it's free.
ICQ Premium (iPhone) is a mobile chat client that integrates with ICQ and Facebook. It's a bit of a surprise as I didn't know ICQ still existed. It looks solid however, and integrates a lot of services.
It goes for $2.99 (or free with ads)
FaxBurner (iPhone) gives you a temporary phone number to which people can send you a fax. Then, it lets you access them and forward them by email. This sounds incredibly convenient if you ever have to deal with people who still use faxes. It won't let you send any, but it's apparently coming.
Also, it's free.
Nice RSS (iPad) is yet another Google Reader client to read your RSS feeds.
However, it looks good.
It goes for $2.99.
Lets Make Pizza (iPhone) is a database of Pizza recipes for you.
What a great idea.
It goes for $.99.
Capo (iPhone) is a very advanced app that helps you learn how to play the music you have in your iPod's library.
Its interface is very impressive.
It goes for $19.99.
Angry Birds Halloween (iPhone) is the special Halloween edition of everybody's favorite iOS game. I know I usually don't cover games here. For this one however, I'll make an exception.
It goes for $.99.
I'm Coming (iPhone) is an app that allows you to have an email automatically sent once you approach a certain location.
It goes for $.99.
WiFi Touchpad HD Free (iPad) turns your iPad into a wireless TouchPad for your Desktop computer.
It's free.
That's it for today. Did we miss anything? Tell us in the comments!
