AppFresh Daily – The Very Best Apps From The Last 24 Hours
October 25, 2010
Boom! Today, another thousand new apps arrived in the App Store. Let me break it to you, most of them are really bad. Yet, there are a few somewhat interesting ones. Here they are:
PBS (iPad) is the official app of the PBS TV channel. It allows you "to watch PBS programs and stay current with our most popular series, access local PBS station schedules, and stream a variety of content from the PBS archives."
It's free.
VLC Media Player (Universal) has now arrived on the iPhone. It allows you to watch all sorts of video formats right on your iDevice, without any need for prior conversion. Check out our announcement for more details.
It's free.
LED Audio Spectrum (iPhone) "emulates a classic spectrum analyzer device. The app uses the iPhone's microphone to visualize music through colorful 2D graphics that bounce to the beat!"
It's free.
Sex Offender Tracker (iPhone) is "the world's first augmented reality sex offender locator. The Sex Offender Tracker uses the latest in augmented reality technology to locate registered sex offenders that are near your current location." Impressive, but scary stuff.
It goes for $1.99.
That's it for today. Did we miss anything? Tell us in the comments!
