Musicians looking to use the iPad to replace sheet music, this announcement should delight you!
AirTurn is a product that allows you to use a foot-pedal to change pages in sheet music software. It has been around for ages on desktop operating systems such as Windows and the Mac. It even dates back to Mac OS 9 and Windows 98! For the desktop it connects through a USB transmitter and receiver that plugs into both the pedal and the computer.
Coming mid-November, AirTurn will be available for the iPad! It will connect through Bluetooth to provide its functionality. The two apps that will work with it out of the box are forScore and MusicReader (many more apps to come).
For those that already have AirTurn hardware, an adapter will be available to convert it into an iOS friendly device! Also, this new device will work with desktop computers too, so you are not limited to just using it with your iPad.
You can get more information on the official site: www.airturn.com. The BT-105 will cost $69 and be available in the coming weeks.
