New HTML5 Content Headed To Apple.com

October 2, 2010
It looks like Apple plans to add even more HTML5 content to its website in the coming months. Less than a month after unveiling a revamped Movie Trailer site using HTML5, the company is letting its intentions be known through a job posting. Apple is looking for a "Creative Technology Manager," whose main function will be in creating new HTML5 content at Apple.com, with support for iOS devices. This news comes from TUAW, which stated that:
The listing seeks an individual who "...will be responsible for driving web-standard (HTML5) innovation that enhances and redefines the marketing of Apple's products and services to millions of consumers. Work will also include exploring opportunities with apple.com, email and mobile/multi-touch experiences on the iPhone and iPad."
The job posting has since been taken down from the Apple.com job posting site. Perhaps they are already interviewing candidates. In addition to its new HTML5 movie site, Apple released a "Compare Macs" site in August using the same technology. HTML5, unlike Adobe Flash, runs on mobile devices such as the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad.
