iDos App, We Hardly Knew Ye

iDos App, We Hardly Knew Ye

October 27, 2010
Remember DOS, the legacy operating system that led to the creation of Windows? Well, others do too. And on good authority, I know that many still like using the DOS operating system because of its stability. The iDos app was recently released for those users that still enjoy using DOS. Thanks to this app, users could emulate the running of DOS files as well as Windows 3.0 all from an Apple iDevice. But, almost as soon as the iDos app arrived at the App Store, Apple pulled it. Now, 9To5Mac believes it knows why. According to their report:
Now that users have gotten the chance to play around, some are reporting that the application allows you to access the entire iOS filesystem- without a jailbreak.
Playing around with decades old software certainly didn't concern Apple. But, when that software was used to actually access the iOS file system, the powers that be moved quickly in deciding to pull the app. If any of our readers actually downloaded iDOS and used it, we'd like to know.
