iFlux Returns To The App Store With A New Name

A few weeks ago iFlux was removed from the AppStore due to copyright issues with Universal Studios. For those unfamiliar with the app, it mimics the flux capacitor found in the “Back to the Future” Delorean. It even includes a time panel to set your destination time. The app will mimic the flux capacitor and when you reach your preset speed, the app will light up and pretend to transport you to a different time. The app finds your speed by using the GPS of your iPhone or iPad.
The new update changes the name of iFlux to Flux Capacitor™. In addition to now being officially approved and licensed by the Studios, the update also includes an alarm clock mode. The app also features an extras area where you can learn how to buy all three Back to the Future films or watch the 25th Anniversary trailer. The price remains at $.99.
For those that already have iFlux, I would recommend backing up that app. The features added here really are just promotions for Universal Studios. One of the coolest things about the original app was where it activated the flux capacitor when you reached a specific speed. It is now gone. Instead you simply hold down your finger and it will ramp up to 88 miles an hour to activate it. The once great iFlux app is gone, replaced by a nifty, but not as cool Flux Capacitor app.
I prefer the old app, but now you can see what it does without driving. We’d love to hear which version you prefer. Please let us know in the comments.
