iPad Arrives At Target On Sunday

October 2, 2010
Target will become just the second non-Apple U.S. retailer to carry the iPad when it arrives this Sunday. Best Buy began selling Apple's device at some select stores in April and at all of its locations nationwide last week. The Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Target confirmed just last week that they would begin selling four of the six iPad models. While not confirmed, they will most likely be selling the 16GB and 32GB in both the 3G and Wi-Fi versions, beginning on Sunday. Target, which was the first U.S. retailer to offer Amazon's Kindle earlier this year has recently been in an interesting tug of war with Richfield, Minnesota-based Best Buy. The electronics giant just started selling Amazon's book reader. Now, both companies will begin competing directly for customers for both the iPad and Kindle. Users of the Target credit card take note: if you wait until October 17th (and use your Target credit card) to purchase your iPad, you'll get a five percent discount. 9 to 5 Mac has posted a picture of a Target store supposedly getting ready for the iPad to arrive.
