JotAgent Uploads Your Thoughts To Dropbox

October 26, 2010
You’re sitting on the subway after a long day at work and your mind is racing. The holidays are approaching and you can’t stop thinking about what to get your loved ones for Christmas. This year, you and your significant other are going to stick to a list and not spend beyond your budget. Suddenly it hits you: what to get your picky sister for Christmas. Rather than forgetting this detail, you can now use JotAgent, a new universal app for the iPhone/iPod touch or iPad. The app, created by MacRecon, relies on a simple concept, but one that could be useful to many. When you want to jot something down, use the app. The information you enter is automatically synced to your Dropbox account for later viewing. As Francisco Cantu, the developer of JotAgent states:
What probably makes JotAgent separate from what I consider to be its main competitor, Captio, is the fact that I sensed that there was a niche for a similar app but that works through Dropbox instead of email. I must point out, though, that I don't think of other Dropbox apps like Elements or PlainText to be competitors -- they're another league of apps that require more navigation rather than type-and-save for the user that's always on the go. (In fact, I am a user of PlainText for writing different kinds of notes that don't fit into JotAgent's nature.)
In the future, the app will allow image uploading. For now it strictly works with text. Get JotAgent today in the App Store for your iPhone/iPod touch or iPad for $.99.
