Kaplan To Release App For Students

Kaplan To Release App For Students

October 14, 2010
High school students will soon have another way to study for the dreaded SAT. Kaplan and game maker Aspyr Media are about to release a new iPad app that will test a student’s reading, writing and math skills. Built upon Kaplan’s popular FutureU SAT study game, the app will be available free for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. According to Mashable, which got to see a prerelease version of the app:
We haven’t had the opportunity to test out the new app for ourselves, but FutureU for iPhone and iPad is modeled after existing SAT prep versions of the game for Nintendo DS, PC and Mac, and sounds like a promising way to get lackadaisical students a little more excited about SAT prep. Still, students looking for an easy way out of studying should be forewarned — FutureU is only meant to complement traditional study methods, not replace them altogether.

FutureU study guides were initially released by Kaplan and Aspyr for Windows, Mac and Nintendo DS. They give students a fun way of learning key skills for the SAT. It's nice to see both companies putting these on Apple's devices as well. Based on the screenshots, this looks like a winner. Once the app is officially released, we’ll let you know.
