PBS For iPad Now Available, Watch Full-Length Shows For Free
October 25, 2010
PBS, the non-profit public television broadcasting service, has joined the ranks of quite a few other television networks by releasing their very own official streaming video app for iPad, and it's simply titled PBS for iPad.
PBS for iPad allows you to watch full-length episodes from 25 different shows all from your iPad. Shows include Nature, PBS News Hour, and Antiques Roadshow. Shows can be searched for or browsed through alphabetically. They can also be marked as favorites and shared via Facebook, Twitter, or email.
In case you still watch shows the old fashion way, you are able to look up local air times for your favorites from the app by simply entering your zip code and service provider. You can even donate money to your favorite PBS show from the app as well.
PBS for iPad's release coincides with the network's revamp of its website, which now blends national and local news together. PBS also intends to offer an iPhone and iPod touch version of the app sometime next month.
