Peggle Update Adds Peggle Nights As An In-App Purchase

October 4, 2010
If you haven't fired up Peggle on your iPhone or iPod touch since it was updated with background music and multitasking support in June, it looks like now is the time since PopCap has just unleashed the Peggle Nights expansion pack, which features all kinds of new content to enjoy. Peggle Nights gives Peggle fanatics 60 new levels and challenges to take on, as well as 11 Peggle masters to unlock, which include the original 10 Peggle masters' alter egos and the powerful Marina.  It also features 15 new trophies to obtain if you are into that sort of thing. As you would expect, gameplay and controls are exactly the same as the original, except you will be attempting to conquer all-new levels with new obstacles.  All 60 levels are playable in adventure, quick play, and duel mode, as well as challenge mode. Peggle Nights is actually the sequel to Peggle, and has been available for Windows, Mac OS X, and XBLA for quite a while now.  Instead of offering it as a standalone app, however, PopCap decided to make it available as a $2.99 in-app purchase, but as of this moment, you can nab it for the low introductory price of $.99.  Peggle itself is available for the sale price of $.99. PopCap has included five of the new 6o levels for free as a sort of Peggle Nights demo, so you can get an idea of what to expect. As a warning, DO NOT update Peggle if you have an iPhone or iPod touch set to a language other than English, French, Italian, German or Spanish, including British English. Apparently there is a bug plaguing this update that causes the game to crash on devices set to other languages.  A fix has been submitted, so just hold tight.
