Cut the Rope HD ($1.99) by Chillingo Ltd The superb iPhone game Cut The Rope isn't limited to iPhone/iPod Touch owners any longer. Cut The Rope HD was just released letting iPad owners in on the puzzle phenomenon of cutting rope to feed candy to the cute Om Nom. You just slice the pieces of rope at specific points of time using the swiping mechanic from Fruit Ninja.

Cut the Rope HD

The game includes 100 levels of candy feeding fun while you progress through four box types each with new elements. Not only will you deal with rope, but also bubbles, spikes, air blowers, electric fields, and wheels to adjust the length of rope. Every level is scored on a three star scale with three stars located in every level, and you need to pick them all up with the candy before feeding it to Om Nom.

The game definitely has puzzle aspects, but there are a lot of action elements as well because timing is everything. You need to cut the ropes, pop the bubbles, blow the air, etc. at just the right time for the candy to swing through obstacles, and have enough force to make it through the level to Om Nom. The game has such a simple mechanic that anyone can enjoy, and the new elements are introduced subtly before becoming really challenging so everyone will be prepared for every level.

There is so much to do with all 100 levels, and you don't really feel like you completed it until you get three stars on each one. Crystal is included for online high scores and achievements which should hold ipad owners over until November's firmware update and GameCenter. The iPad version is exactly the same as the iPhone version, so the HD version just allows iPad owners to enjoy the Cut The Rope experience.

The game looks great on the iPad, and all the interaction with the various elements seems more realistic. There is a real shine to every aspect, and it's easier to cut the rope, and interact with each environment with more space to maneuver on the iPad.

For $1.99 Cut The Rope is a must buy that every iPad owner will enjoy.
