Overview
Ever wondered how close you could get to the fastest possible human response time of 0.03 seconds? Now you can with 0.03 Seconds Pro, a collection of reaction puzzles that will keep you both alert and addicted.
Features
The game has 3 difficulty modes that each contain the same 24 levels with different score requirements. You can earn up to 5 stars on each level based on the amount of time you take to complete it. When playing in normal or crazy mode, you are required to react much faster and earning 5 stars on many levels turns into mission impossible. The puzzles are simple and range from tapping when certain actions happen on the screen to blocking soccer balls with your finger.
The Good
The game levels are constructed nicely and each has its unique elements, even though they all revolve around the concept of touching the screen immediately when something happens. They are fun to play through and provide lots of replay value, as you'll find yourself hitting that retry button over and over again. Who knew that tapping on your device when a chicken ran across the screen could be so frustratingly fun!
The developer of 0.03 Seconds Pro has announced that the next update will include Game Center compatibility. Right now, the game saves your high score for each level and shows you how many stars you have left to earn at the top of the level select screen. Global online scores will add a large amount of competition in a game based almost entirely on speed.
0.03 Seconds Pro is a great example of a simple concept implemented perfectly in an enticing manner. While you'll probably breeze through the levels on easy mode in mere minutes, crazy mode will take hours of direct attention and possibly a few energy drinks to clear perfectly. If that's not enough to convince you to press the buy button, there's also a free version of the game with the first 8 levels that's currently sitting at the top of the free apps chart.
The Bad
There really isn't much to dislike about the game except for that you don't have the option to skip levels. Especially in later levels, it's exceedingly easy to get stuck on a puzzle, even if it's level 1 in crazy mode. In its current state, the game doesn't allow you to advance further until you've completed the predecessing level. A notification also pops up every time the app is opened that asks you to rate the game, which can get annoying. It would be nice to have a few more levels included in future updates as well.
The Verdict
0.03 Seconds Pro has soared high into the app store charts only several days after its release. Whether it's the game modes and star level ratings or the experience of getting stuck at a level because you can't make your character do 70 push ups in 15 seconds, people seem to be enjoying it quite a bit. The brilliant combination of simplicity and speed appeals to almost everyone and will keep you hooked.
0.03 Seconds Pro is a must buy for $0.99 and will put those quick fingers of yours to good use.
