Overview
Are you looking for a new seek and find game with a little adventure, and personality? Well Time Geeks: Find All may just be what you’re looking for giving you pixel art graphics, and a whole bunch of stuff to find. You scour intricate scenes that are packed with humorous objects, and various entertainment references.
Features
The main part of the game is history mode that includes eight missions in eight different locations with each one having at least 10 challenges. When you complete history mode you unlock new challenges, mini-games, and relax mode. Game Center is included for online high scores and achievements, and there is a built in editor to create your own island.
The Good
The game is oozing with style and personality unlike many games in the App Store. From the first history mission with an island based on the show Lost you’ll be hooked by the charm. It’s great seeing the amount of detail packed into each scene all in classic pixel art.
The images are the kind you just want to look at and enjoy every aspect of without the time constraints. There are so many comedic objects and small things you don’t notice on first glance that you’ll enjoy every minute of seeking and finding. Every challenge is just finding one item, and they’re scored on a three star scale based on time taken.
The game is set up well so that you’ll want to replay levels to get three stars, and as you go through the history mode you unlock a ton more features. There are so many challenges, and the mini-games offer a nice change of pace, and relax mode allows you to appreciate the whole level without time constraints. Game Center is also included for online high scores and achievements further cementing the outstanding replayability of Time Geeks.
Seek and find games have been lackluster on the iPhone/iPod Touch up to this point, but if you have a retina display then you’ll see this is the first one to break the trend. The game takes full advantage of the retina display to see all the details from a zoomed out perspective.
The Bad
The game requires very specific tapping with so many small items, so it’s tough to tap on items when zoomed out. The challenges are split up so you only find one item at a time which means you see so many different screens rather than staying in the brilliant scene. It would be nice to try to find all ten items at once without having to go through three transitions before back to the next item.
More of a suggestion than a complaint would be to have the game on the iPad in all its full sized glory.
The Verdict
Time Geeks: Find All! is the best seek and find game yet in the App Store because of the personality packed in. There is so much humor and detail in every scene on top of so much enjoyment of scouring the amazing images.
If you ever wanted a seek and find game look no further than Time Geeks: Find All, a should buy for only $0.99.
