AIM For iPhone Gets Much Needed Update - Retina & More
November 8, 2010
When it comes to IM clients, I swear by the official AIM app. It also helps that it's the only chat protocol I use. I do really like the idea of having one app to do just one thing, but very well. AIM certainly does that, and thanks to a great new update, it just got a whole lot better.
All you really need to know about the update is in information screenshot above. In a nutshell, the app now handles multitasking seamlessly, and you won't even notice that it discreetly reconnects itself when you fast-app switch to it. Also, they redesigned the buddy list, and added full Retina resolution support. It looks great; nothing surprising there.
AOL has also improved the interface that allows you to add people to an IM session (in case you ever do that).
If you already own AIM, you can get the new version by hitting the update section of the store. For the rest of you, it's $2.99, now on the App Store.
