The Amazing 60 Minutes For iPad App Has Arrived

The venerable news program, 60 Minutes has arrived for the iPad. And, in a word, it is amazing. Created by CBS Interactive, the 60 Minutes for iPad app is nothing less than the entire program right on your Apple device. No clips. No missing segments. It's an entire archive of current and not so current video segments from the number one news program in the United States.

According to a CBS News Release:

"It is an exciting new way to watch our stories. I love everything about it - the way the app looks, the way the stories play, and the fact that viewers can watch them anytime they want," said 60 Minutes Executive Producer Jeff Fager.

The 60 Minutes for iPad app includes:

• This Week on 60 Minutes – all the high-quality video segments and stories from each week’s broadcast
• Previews of each week’s show leading up to the broadcast
• 60 Minutes Overtime - originally produced content offering a weekly behind-the-scenes look at the production of 60 Minutes as well as timely archival segments
• Search the extensive 60 Minutes video archive, including stories from past and current seasons
• Browse video segments by category and correspondent
• Easily share your favorite segments and share via email, Facebook, or Twitter

Each video is presented in stunning detail and works over Wi-Fi and 3G to ensure the optimal viewing experience. If there is one thing lacking with this app, it is the inability to download videos for later viewing. Perhaps this will be included in a future update. Priced at $4.99, the 60 Minutes for iPad app is available today in the App Store.
