Apple Approves SkyFire Flash-Enabled Browser For iOS

November 2, 2010
Wow, good news folks! Apple has opened up its App Store a bit more today, and has approved the SkyFire iOS browser. It's not like Opera Mini, as SkyFire for iPhone is built on top of Safari and WebKit. It does however contain some amazing additions you've never seen before. Namely: Flash-support. Yes, you've read that right. How does it work? SkyFire's servers sit between you and the website you visit, and convert Adobe flash content to iOS-friendly HTML5. It's not native Flash support, but the outcome is reportedly the same. It's been approved today, and will be released this Thursday for $2.99. We didn't get to try it yet, so we don't know if it will live up to our expectations. Nevertheless, it sounds promising. Here's it is on video:

As usual, we'll keep you posted.
