Construct Your Holiday Shopping List On Your iPad With The New Target App
November 15, 2010
Those of you who are fans of the big red Minneapolis, MN-based retailer known as Target will be happy to know that constructing your holiday shopping lists will be much easier this year thanks to the new Target for iPad app.
The new Target for iPad app is mostly focused on helping you create a shopping list on your iPad, which you can bring to your local Target store. The app allows you to browse weekly ads for stores in your area -- which can also be found using the built-in store locator -- and simply drag and drop items from the ad into your digital shopping list. If you can't find what you are looking for in the weekly ad, you can browse through Target's entire catalog of products using the search function and add them to your list as well.
Items in your shopping list can be re-ordered in a snap, include different quantities, and can even be shared with others via email. When you have found and purchased an item on your list, you can check it off or remove it entirely.
One major drawback, however, is that you are unable to purchase items from Target's online store from within the app. If you find an item that isn't available at your local store and would like to purchase it online, you are taken out of the app and brought to the listing in Safari. You also are unable to interact with other online services Target offers, such as gift registries, order tracking, and account information.
If you constantly wander the aisles of your local Target store, the new Target for iPad app is a must download, especially for free. It doesn't include a ton of bells and whistles, but it helps you get the job done quickly and easily. Plus, it's hard to go wrong with an app that allows you to bobble the head of Target's mascot, Bullseye the dog.
