FlightTrack Apps Get Significant Upgrade

November 18, 2010
The best flight tracking app out there just underwent a significant upgrade. The FlightTrack app for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad was recently updated to Version 4.0. Created by Ben Kazez, FlightTrack has been revamped and includes an amazing new interface and more features.

Users can now use the added tab bar to organize information about each flight, plus the SeatGuru map integration makes it easy to find the best seats on flights. In addition, users can see a full display of scheduled, estimated, and actual times for gate departure, takeoff, landing, and gate arrival.

I’ve loved the FlightTrack app since before it became available for the iPad (as a universal app). The most recent update makes it better than ever. There are actually two apps, FlightTrack and FlightTrack Pro. Both offer users amazing flight tracking information. The former is priced at $4.99. The Pro Version, which contains push alerts, FAA airport delays and closures as well as terminal maps is $9.99. If you purchase FlightTrack and later want to upgrade, you can do so as an in-app purchase. Both are available in the App Store today.
