Hipstamatic App Brings Photos To The New York Times
November 24, 2010
Apparently “all the news that’s fit to print” includes photos taken on an iPhone with a $1.99 iPhone/iPod touch app.
According to MacStories, a recent headline article in The New York Times included four pictures taken with the Hipstamatic app.
According to MacStories:
When NYT photog Damon Winter went to northern Afghanistan to catalog the efforts of the First Battalion, 87th Infantry of the 10th Mountain Division, he took all the fancy camera equipment you would expect. He’d shoot video of firefights with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II, sure. But he also grabbed still photos using Hipstamatic, an app that lets you choose among a huge selection of filters. While this is good news for the Hipstamatic creators, Synthetic Corp., it makes you wonder what the Times is thinking. A $1.99 app to take front page photos in the nation's "paper of record?" Either Hipstamatic is that good (and it is) or the Times is really having money issues. The Hipstamatic app is available in the App Store. [Photo: TwitPic]
