Infinity Blade Game Coming Soon

Epic Games has just announced its upcoming Infinity Blade game for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. In September, Steve Jobs previewed the game's concept to rave reviews at Apple’s special event in San Francisco, California. At the time, the game was called Project Sword.

Infinity Blade will feature single-player battles within ye olde castle environments and will gradually grant you experience, improved stats and more powerful items. It will be expanded to support a multiplayer mode (and Game Center) via free updates after launch.Infinity Blade will be available within a few weeks, in plenty of time for the holidays. In the meantime, the company has kept its demo of the game's capabilities available in the App Store. Called Epic Citadel, the it looks truly amazing. According to Epic:
Additional content will be released free of charge via planned updates, including a fully integrated multiplayer mode, which enables players to find friends and other challengers to battle online via Game Center. “More than one million people have been introduced to the world of ‘Infinity Blade’ through our free app, ‘Epic Citadel,’ and soon everyone will be able to play our first fully featured game for iOS devices,” said Dr. Michael Capps, president of Epic Games. “With ‘Infinity Blade,’ ChAIR has created an amazing looking, incredibly fun game that really demonstrates the potential of triple-A mobile gaming.”While no exact release date or price has been announced, it should be available soon. Infinity Blade certainly looks like it will be a winner.
