Magic Fiddle: The Next Generation Of Music Lessons Now Available

November 11, 2010
The creator of Magic Piano, Glee Karaoke, Ocarina, and many more is at it again. Smule has just released Magic Fiddle for the iPad. The app attempts to bring learning and playing of the fiddle/violin to the iPad. The app guides the fledgling musician through a storybook to teach the fiddle. The storybook is an interactive personal tutor. The instructor will teach you how to hold the fiddle, bowing, the importance of posture, scales, and more! The app features a songbook, solo mode, achievements, and world mode. World mode matches up Magic Piano users with Magic Fiddle users for a very unique duet.

I have personally taken lessons and I also studied music in college. I was thoroughly impressed with the app's fun and interactive way of teaching the fiddle! The method Smule uses here could truly be the next generation of music lessons. In the future, iPad apps like this could truly become a platform for teaching beginning musicians. Imagine having apps available for all the different members of an orchestra or band and being able to have them learn each instrument on an iPad! Magic Fiddle is available in the App Store for $2.99.
