Monster Dash Update Adds iPad And Fast App Switching Support

November 18, 2010
The team at Halfbrick Studios appear to be in a giving mood on this week before Thanksgiving.  Instead of charging gamers a second time for a separate, iPad-optimized version of their popular endless distance game, Monster Dash, the company has decided to include support for our favorite large screen device for free via a recent update.  But that's not all, Monster Dash now includes fast app switching support for those who just can't seem to stay in one app for longer than a few seconds. Monster Dash on the iPad plays just like the iPhone version.  The object of the game is to travel through time blasting a wide variety of bad guys while also trying to avoid falling down holes.  As you progress through the game, the speed of your character really picks up, so you must utilize the various weapon power-ups to the best of your ability to stay alive. One obvious, non-gameplay difference, however, is that the iPad version uses OpenFeint over Apple's Game Center to provide leaderboards and achievements, but once iOS 4.2 arrives, that all may change. Since the differences between the iPhone and iPad versions of Monster Dash are relatively trivial, feel free to check out our review of the iPhone version to see why you need to be playing this game. Monster Dash for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad is available in the App Store for $.99.
