CamScanner+ ($4.99) by IntSig Information Co.,Ltd lets you scan and save important items on the go! Capture receipts, whiteboards, notes, documents and more using just your iPhone. Best of all, you can immediately upload your scans as PDF documents to your favorite cloud service.
Check out the in-app tutorial for more details and sample documents, but here is a basic overview. To test out the app, I scanned a recipe written by a young girl, an Italian pen pal who is practicing her English. Thus the charming grammatical and spelling errors in my sample screen shots.
Simply take a photo in-app (or grab from your photo library) and crop as needed. Keep the Original Color, or tap Lighten, or Magic Color as desired. Rotate it if you wish, then tap the check mark icon when finished to let the app enhance the photo you have taken. You can even add additional scans if you wish to save a multi-page document. Simply tap the “camera plus” or “stack plus” icon to add pages from your camera or your photo library, respectively. Now, tap the check mark to save within the app.
At this point, go ahead and name your document by tapping the list icon in the upper right hand corner. Name it, tag it, and choose a size here. Tap the back arrow to return to the document when finished.
Now tap the rectangle/arrow icon in the bottom right corner to bring up a list of places to save your PDF: Email, Google, BOX.net, Evernote, iDisk, and Dropbox. You can link the app to any or all of these. If you don’t already have an account set up with at least one of these cloud services, I would highly recommend doing so. This makes it very easy to access your documents anywhere, any time.
Everyone needs to check out this app! If you don’t want to pay for the full version, pick up the free lite version. Incredibly, the free ad-supported version offers all of the functionality of the paid version! This is a must-own app for iPhone users. Please note that the resolution on the iPod Touch camera is not yet high enough for this app to work.
