Reckless Racing And Reckless Racing HD Get New Tracks, New Vehicles
November 30, 2010
Those of you who nabbed yourselves a copy of Reckless Racing or Reckless Racing HD last week for only $.99 are getting even more bang for your buck today. EA has updated both versions of the game, providing two new courses (only one for iPad) and two new vehicles free of charge.
Of the two new courses, The Island and Frozen Lake, only one is actually brand new, as iPad owners have had The Island available to them since Reckless Racing first hit the App Store. But that doesn't mean it's any less worthy. The Island is one of the game's prettier courses to race through thanks to its nighttime setting and fancy lighting effects. Frozen Lake is new to both versions of the game and features some difficult to navigate terrain since you literally pass over a frozen lake.
Unlike the new tracks, the two additional vehicles are new to both versions of the game. Boss drives a pink Cadillac, while Granny gets behind the wheel of a large monster truck. Don't worry, these pairings make total sense, trust me. Both vehicles feature quite a bit of power and speed, but it comes at the price of rather poor handling.
It's nice to see that EA is committed to updating one of the best top-down racers in the App Store with new content since that was one of the few low points in our review of Reckless Racing. Hopefully it's a sign of even more to come.
Reckless Racing for iPhone and iPod touch is available in the App Store for $.99, while Reckless Racing HD for iPad has jumped back up to its normal price of $4.99.
